Get Active in Public Policy
AIM needs your help! As a citizen and a constituent, you are in a powerful position to influence policymakers responsible for areas of government that impact the melanoma community.
Help us educate and influence legislators and government officials who influence melanoma legislation. On the national level that means the amount of money given to medical research each year, access to medications, and the future of genetic research. On the state level that means banning indoor tanning for those under 18, and mandating sun safety education.
AIM's Public Policy Committee is calling for volunteers to act as legislative advocates at the local grassroots level. The primary duty of these volunteers is to write and visit the local offices of Federal and State Representatives and Senators in order to urge them to support increased funding for medical research and other issues.
