Gayle Duncan Lavecchio

04/05/1963 — 03/25/2012

She got a sore on her leg, and after surgery it spread to her groin and then to her brain. Within 2 years of getting the sore she died.

She was a beautiful hard working wife and mother and became a grandmother shortly before her death. It is so sad because I don’t feel there is enough awareness out there that skin cancer can be deadly.

We all love her and miss her dearly, and the sun and ocean was her favorite thing and she enjoyed it, but we never expected anyone dying from enjoying the beauty of a hot summer’s day. I would like to see some more awareness efforts being made because it is real.
