AIM announced the launch of our redesigned website last week. Have you had an opportunity to take a look?

Every aspect of the site is new!

The look and feel are updated and modern. From the font to the graphics, the goal of the design is to make reading the information on the site less distracting and more pleasant. We’ve also added new features that make interaction with the site even easier. These features include integrated social media buttons for Facebook and Twitter, a live chat system to foster improved communication, and a map that shows the locations of our nationwide Steps Against Melanoma walks and Living with Melanoma symposiums.

All current content has been revised and updated, and much new content has been added. All of those affected by melanoma—whether you are newly diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment for melanoma, beyond treatment, or caring for someone with melanoma—will find valuable information throughout the site.

Our Melanoma Learning Center includes, among other things, a video library, side effect management guides, and downloadable melanoma educational materials.  We have added information to the site on prevention, early detection, and understanding melanoma. There’s a comprehensive section for those who are newly diagnosed, offering a step-by-step understanding of biopsies, tests, pathology reports, and staging. We’ve updated and expanded our already-thorough explanation pages for each stage of melanoma, including providing downloadable sample questions to ask your doctor for each stage. And we’ve added a new section on life after treatment. All of the content is thorough and accurate, but also written so patients can understand it.

We’ve enhanced and added content according to your requests: Our memorial tributes and survivor stories pages are visually updated and more easily navigated. Our past newsletters are included as part of a new and ongoing blog. We’ve added sections on exactly how you can get involved with AIM, including with legislative efforts, our Peer Connect program, and our nationwide Steps Against Melanoma Walks. And our Fundraising section is far more robust, with pages on how to donate your birthday to AIM through Facebook, how to start a “Do It Yourself” fundraiser, how to give through eBay and AmazonSmile, and how to give securities to support AIM’s mission.

Of course, our mainstay pages are only changed for the better: Take a look at our Living with Melanoma symposiums section, Steps Against Melanoma walks section, and Research section.

The new website has a sitewide, consistent navigation system to make it easier to find the information above as well as any other information you are looking for. We think you’ll find it very user-friendly, but if you have any questions about how to find a topic on our site, we’ve introduced a Live Chat feature during working hours that allows you to ask us directly.
