Julie Bennett

Diagnosed 02/04/1998

I was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma, Stage 4,  in 1998 and we thought the Wide Excision Surgery got it all but we were wrong! I found a strange lump 2 and 1/2 years later on the side of my left breast and it would turn out to be a lymph node along with 11 others that the melanoma had traveled to.

After so many tests on every part of me to make sure the melanoma wasn’t anywhere else,  my amazing Oncologist decided the best treatment was a year of Interferon 4 weeks of IV Monday-Friday and 3 times a week for the next 11 months. That was a long year…I am one of the lucky ones that I am here to tell my story!
