AIM’s Monthly Giving Program, The Supporters Guild
Our monthly giving program allows us to fund more critical melanoma research while streamlining the process for our donors. A monthly gift to AIM is a convenient way to spread your gift over time with automatic, recurring contributions. You choose how much to give and for how long, and you can change the amount or cancel at any time.
WHY Monthly Giving?
- Becoming a Supporters Guild member means you’re committed to our mission.
- The Supporters Guild creates a stable source of funding for AIM so your donation dollars can make a bigger impact on scientific research and on the lives of melanoma patients.
- Splitting up your donations over twelve months can make giving more economically manageable.
- It is quick, safe, and easy to sign up for monthly donations through The Supporters Guild, and you can cancel your donation at any time. AIM will provide donors with one tax receipt at the end of the year, helping to simplify the tax filing process.
In Loving Memory of Charlie Guild
(1977- 2003)
The Supporters Guild is named in memory of Charlie Guild, who lost her battle with melanoma in 2003. When Charlie was diagnosed with melanoma just nine months earlier, there was very little information available for newly diagnosed patients and no successful treatments. Before Charlie passed away, her desire was to ease the pathway for others battling this disease, which in turn led to the creation of AIM at Melanoma Foundation. Your monthly donation helps us fulfill Charlie’s vision.
We’ve Come A Long Way Since Charlie Was Diagnosed

In 2004, Val Guild embarked on a long quest to open the first collaborative, annotated, fresh-frozen primary tissue bank to help find the cure for melanoma; as of 2020 four U.S. branches are open.

In 2011 AIM launched the International Melanoma Working Group, a global collaboration of 25+ of the world’s leading experts in melanoma, who are determined to advance scientific research that improves outcomes for patients.

Ten separate drugs have been approved for melanoma since 2011; before 2011, there had been no new drugs approved for melanoma in over 20 years.

As of February 2021, there are over 100 clinical trials for melanoma open/currently recruiting patients in the U.S.

Today, patients are living longer and having more time with their loved ones.
Major Strides in Melanoma Research Give Reasons for Hope
All of these developments are just the beginning. There is still so much to be done and your monthly donation is critical to helping drive progress. As a member of the Supporters Guild, your monthly gift, given automatically through your checking account or credit/debit card, will allow you to provide the funds needed for AIM to support life-saving melanoma research, every day, twelve months a year.
