Survivor Stories

Rebecca Kempney, Stage IV

Diagnosed: 06/15/2015

After many years of managing arm pain and numbness it was found after advocating for scans and MRI that there was a tumor in my spinal cord in my neck. Originally it was thought to be a Schwannoma tumor. However, after removing it the biopsy was positive for melanoma. I had a melanoma spot removed from my shoulder 2 years prior. I was already a breast cancer survivor from 2011 after being diagnosed with DCIS and having a bi lateral mastectomy. It’s been a few years which have included raising our now 8 year old son and adopting our beautiful daughter.
