2026 National Sunscreen Partner

We are proud to share that burnd Sunscreen has joined AIM at Melanoma as our 2026 National Sunscreen Partner.
This partnership will support our work throughout the year, including the Steps Against Melanoma Walks nationwide, helping us bring education and sun safety directly into the hands of our community.
As part of this collaboration, burnd will provide complimentary sunscreen samples to be shared with participants and supporters across our 2026 events and outreach efforts.
burnd’s history starts with a dad, pediatrician, and scientist, Dr. Mark Mitchnick, who kept seeing sunburned kids and sunscreens that didn’t work. So he set out to change that.
In 1998, he invented transparent zinc oxide, built a lab, and began supplying major sunscreen brands. But none of those companies made a sunscreen he trusted for his family, so he made his own. That formula became burnd.
The company, launched in 2023 by Mark’s son, Malachy, offers a broad-spectrum SPF 41 water-resistant sunscreen and other skincare products.
Throughout 2026, you will see burnd alongside AIM at Melanoma as we raise awareness, support prevention, and serve the melanoma community.

Sun protection is one of the most effective tools we have in reducing melanoma risk. And it’s the simplest habits—daily application, reapplication, accessibility—that make the greatest difference.
This partnership helps us reinforce those habits in meaningful, tangible ways.
This partnership is rooted in shared purpose.
It’s about making prevention more accessible.
It’s about getting outside, meeting people, and protecting yourself while you do it.
And it’s about continuing to build a community where awareness leads to action, and action leads to impact.
We are grateful to burnd for standing with us in this work and supporting the melanoma community in such a meaningful way.
Together, we move forward—one step, one conversation, one layer of protection at a time.
Important to burnd is making themselves accessible to the community. As a part of that effort, Malachy (Mark’s son and CEO) is available for any questions about sun protection, different kinds of sunscreens, or just to chat. You can email him at malachy@getburnd.com.
