My dad was diagnosed with melanoma in March 2007. He had a lesion on his forehead that was malignant. He was referred to M.D. Anderson, and the lesion was removed. He followed up as directed, and each time was clear. March 2009 he started having trouble dialing his cell phone, drifting to the right when driving, and falling asleep. He was admitted to the hospital due to his doctor thinking he could possibly have had a stroke. A CT scan revealed six golf ball-sized tumors in his brain. That was March 7; on May 5th God called him home.
He was the rock of our family and extended family and is missed so very much.
