My dad was an incredibly proud, dignified man and a loving, responsible father my entire life. He always was a strong pillar of strength in my life and my “go to” source for advice on matters in life.
We were all reeling from the sudden, unexpected news of his Stage IV metastatic melanoma when he was diagnosed on 12/26/11. We were told that he had 6-8 months to live. We were shocked at this sudden, grim diagnosis after a stomach ache. He had been to his primary care doctor at least twice a year, kidney doctor as well, had blood work done, and had hernia and prostate surgery within the past 7 years, and NEVER a hint of cancer given by the doctors.
He passed away surrounded by family on 2/19/12. We were heartbroken, and still are, but grateful for having had such an amazing father/husband/ grandfather. Rick (my husband), Julia and Veronica, the rest of the family, and I will miss you forever, Dad.
I know you are still with us in spirit, and I look forward to the day that you and
I can meet on the other side and have our talks once again. We love you forever, Dad.
