Professor Scott Wills

08/26/1960 — 12/02/2011

Our precious son was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma February 2008.  He had always been careful of sun exposure because of his melanoma history. Somehow his mole test was not conclusive.  He bravely began the difficult surgeries on his brain and other locations in his body that had been affected, and then, the nearly unbearable treatments that were offered.  Through all of this he was so brave and upbeat, encouraging others that were ill and protecting those of us who loved him.

His love and devotion for his beloved wife of 25 years and his precious two children were never out of his thoughts and protection.  Our precious son always was there for us, as well as his beloved sister.  He continued to encourage and influence so many young students where he taught at Georgia Tech during his recuperation.

As a result of his courage and positive attitude, he was free of this dreadful disease for a little over 3 years, during which time he lived his life to the fullest with all of us, his family, students, and his many friends at church and school. In the middle of 2011, this monster disease returned in an area that could not be treated.  Again the example of his courage, faith, and love was unbelievable.

He left such a hole in our lives, but his strength and courage will carry us all through this terrible loss.  We shall love and miss him forever.
