My father was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma in April, 2009. His first clinical trial was unsuccessful as the melanoma spread to his lungs.
In September of 2010, my dad began his second clinical trial. He was a warrior who was going to fight the beast with all that he had. Sadly, the disease spread to his brain in February 2011, and he passed away peacefully on March 9, 2011, surrounded by his loved ones.
My dad was larger than life. He was devoted, smart, loving, and generous. He faced his disease with dignity and fought until the very end. He will be deeply missed, but always loved, by his family.
