Kent W. Hamlin was widely recognized in the nuclear power industry – worldwide – for his exemplary contributions to the industry’s accredited, standardized training programs, his dedication to promoting the highest standards of safety, reliability, and excellence in plant operations, and his high persona standards, integrity, and consummate professionalism. During his long career, Kent served in various leadership and executive roles that had significant impact on the industry’s continuing improvements and successes. Through his unwavering commitment to plant operator training, he set high standards for effective operator licensing activities. Kent was a major contributor to the initial development and continuing success of CONTE. The ANS Kent W. Hamlin Memorial Scholarship has been established to continue Kent’s support of the nuclear power industry.

Kent, my loving husband, best friend and dive buddy I am so proud of you. You fought long and hard and you did everything that was asked of you — thank you. My love for you grows stronger with each passing moment – as it always has. Heaven surely must be brighter with you there. I miss you.
