Turn Your Superbowl Party into a Fundraiser for Melanoma Research
On Sunday, February 3rd turn your Super Bowl party into a fundraiser for AIM and Melanoma research. The keys to turning a successful Super Bowl party into a winning fundraiser are making it fun and connecting it to football. Here are some ideas for a Super Bowl Party Fundraiser:
“Guess the Winner and Score” Contest
Create a contest at the party that awards the person who correctly guesses the winner of the Super Bowl and the score of the game. Have everyone fill out an index card with their prediction of the winner and score and collect a fee for each entry. Make the entry fee a significant but affordable price—something like $25. Give the winner a prize worth approximately the cost of one ticket, such as an Amazon Echo or two movie passes. If you cover the cost of the prize, all proceeds can go to AIM. At the end of the party, collect all the funds, and send a check to AIM from you and your fabulous friends!
“I’ll Feed You if You Donate!” Party
When you send out your Super Bowl invites, let everyone know you’ll be supplying tasty food and drink and ask them to consider donating to melanoma research if they’re coming. Register this fundraiser on AIM’s DIY page, and then include the link to your donation page on your invite. Ask those who can’t make it to consider a donation anyway. Theme the donation amounts, such as:
$10 Extra Point
$50 Field Goal
“Tip the Bartender” Party
Make yourself the bartender for the day, put a big “tip” jar out, and let people know that their tips will go to melanoma research. Suggest an amount, such as $5 a drink. At the end of the party, collect the money and send a check to AIM from you and your fabulous friends! Keep an eye out for the biggest tipper and send him home with a nice bottle of wine as a thank you.
“Winners Donate to Research” Party
Send out your invitation and when people RSVP have them state the team they’re rooting for. Let them know that you hope they will consider a donation to melanoma research if their team wins. Register this fundraiser on AIM’s DIY page, and then include the link to your donation page on your invite, so that it’s easy for everyone to give. Remind everyone at the party that you hope they give, and even send a follow-up email with your link after the party ends. Let the losers know they can donate, too!
Whatever you choose to do, make the donations fun and event-centric, not cause-centric. And remember, take lots of photos and tag #AIMBOWL so we can share your party!
